Pearl is the birthstone for the month of June. It is also the accepted anniversary gemstone for the 3rd and 30th years of marriage. A pearl is the product of an oyster's defense mechanism. When a foreign matter is introduced to the oyster either by man (cultured) or naturally, the oyster surrounds it with layers of nacre. This is what forms the gemstone pearl. Pearls come in a wide range of colors like white, black, grey, pinkish, yellowish and bluish grey. Pearls that are more round shape are better. The higher the luster - the more valuable the pearl is, and the larger the pearl - the greater the value is.
The
other stone for June is Moonstone. The properties of
moonstone are balancing, introspective, and reflective -
resonating to the moon. It can help with changing one’s
